My senior design project, MathRomp, is a mobile social app that turns mathematics into a fun, competitive game. Through the game, friends will be able to compete by solving various math problems and, subsequently, challenge their friends to solve the same problems. Since there are many kinds of math, like algebra, geometry and calculus, and different levels of difficulty within each type, there is a wide range of problems that one will be able to complete. In addition, the app will also provide a platform for teachers and professors to be able to program specific assignments or challenges to their students. In particular, this will be a possibility because there will be an option for uploading specific problem sets and “challenging” a specific group of users, like a class, to solve them. Overall, this game allows friends to practice math with each other and complete various assignments, all while having fun.
