Handwriting Recognition for Chemistry
At the most fundamental level, the product is targeting the task of reading handwritten chemical formulas. There are a few different market opportunities for products that are built on top of this solution. Writing a document which contains chemical formulas can be made easier on a tablet or other similar touch-screen device, users could write the formulas by hand, and have the application convert the input into a clean, “typed” output which can easily be added to the document. The educational market is also open to handwriting recognition products, and chemistry isn’t an exception. Handwriting recognition can be used to grade homework, without requiring the user to learn any complex user interfaces or input methods. In self-study applications recognition can be used to provide instant feedback to users, allowing them to evaluate their progress without the need of an instructor
